The Pallet Network (Ireland)

For support you should contact the TPN Ireland I.T. department initially in ALL cases.

For downloads please see our downloads page.

General advice with the depot system

Please check the following in your program :-

Setup/Parameters - put your depot code in as a 3 digit number. 11 should be entered as 011. The FTP settings are important and confidential.

Setup/Routes - you need at least one route 01 (at minimum).

Setup/Trunks - you need at least one trunk vehicle 01 (at minimum).

You will need to set up custom label sizes for the printers. See HERE for instructions.

If your computer won't do the FTP download then check these:-

Run Internet Explorer. Does it ask for a password? It shouldn't. If it does, enter the password and click on 'remember'. Try running the FTP download with Internet Explorer minimized on the task bar.

If you have a problem with the FTP site 'timing out' then try the following -

  1. Check that in Parameters you have Passive mode ticked.
  2. If using Norton Personal Firewall then see [HERE]
  3. If using Windows XP then check the Windows® Firewall and ensure the TPN program is listed in Exceptions. See this Microsoft support page for guidance [HERE]
  4. If you are running a Microsoft® Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server on your network then you should seek the advice of your own IT support concerning firewall permissions. See this Microsoft page.

If you still have problems with the FTP transfers then click [HERE]

Problems with printing

  1. If you have problems with Zebra/Eltron thermal printers then click [HERE]
  2. If the program 'crashes' at the point of printing then go into Control Panel and System. If you are using Windows XP then you MUST be running Service Pack 2. If you are running Windows 2000 then you MUST be running Service Pack 4. The programs are NOT designed to work on Windows 95/98/NT as these are obsolete products.

Reinstalling the depot system on a new computer

If you are moving the TPN depot program completely from one computer to another then be aware that the correct method of doing this is to perform a backup first, then install the COMPLETE and full version of the program from the installation CD and THEN restore the backup you created.

Failure to do so will give the characteristic symptoms of no barcode on the label or no Twain device appearing in Parameters.

The version numbers of both should be identical and never install an earlier version of the program with data from a later version.

GPF message on depot system when immediately started

  1. If you get a GPF message when loading the depot program then look in your PRINTERS folder.
  2. Are there any printers?
  3. Is one set as a default?
  4. Does this printer print a test page?
  5. If the printer is a remote printer, is it actually available?

The GPF message is characteristic of a loss of printer functions and may be caused by a computer virus!
